SNSD "The Boys" Debuts at #2 on Billboard's World Chart

SNSD entered the Billboard chart!

On January 17, they released an international maxi version of their hit single “The Boys” in the U.S, Canada, France and the U.K. The album which consists of SNSD’s third album’s main track “The Boys” and remixed versions entered the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart at #2.

Entering the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart proves their popularity and is an achievement considering SNSD are rookies in the U.S.

The “Heatseekers Albums Chart” ranks new artists who enter the Billboard chart for the first time according to the Nelson SoundScan statistics which ranks the hottest releases.

By ranking on the chart, SNSD proved their popularity and set themselves apart from other rookies. Without having started promotional activities in the U.S, SNSD’s future in the American music industry looks promising as they already started to show results.

Although they didn’t manage to enter the “Billboard 200,” SNSD achieved this much with the release of a single and no promotional activities. It would be interesting to watch SNSD’s next step and results as they are scheduled to make two appearance on two of the most popular American talk shows this week.

SNSD will make a guest-appearances on CBS‘s “David Letterman Show” on January 31 and will follow up with another appearance on ABC‘s “Live! With Kelly” on February 1.
