Jung Woo, Yoo Yeon Seok and Son Ho Joon Sing “Feeling Only You” for “Reply 1994” OST

Jung Woo, Yoo Yeon Seok and Son Ho Joon got together to record a track for the “Reply 1994” OST.

CJ E&M Music posted the music video of “Feeling Only You” from “Reply 1994” OST Part 7 on their official YouTube channel on December 12.

The music video shows the three actors recording in the studio, along with scenes of each of the three men and Na Jung (Go Ara). While we get to check out the trio’s singing abilities, we also get scenes of the three possible pairings. We have Na Jung and Trash (Jung Woo) who have finally revealed their true feelings for one another, Chil Bong (Yoo Yeon Seok) who cannot give up on Na Jung despite knowing where her heart lies, and Haitai (Son Ho Joon) who remains a husband candidate despite appearing to be nothing more than friends with Na Jung up to now. This is a song not just about love, but also about the friendships between one another.

“Feeling Only You” is a remake of an old hit of the same name by The Blue, a duo comprising of actor-singers Kim Min Jong and Son Ji Chang. The song was from the duo’s first album released in 1992, and became a big hit when it was used in an advertisement, making it a requisite noraebang song for males at that time.

Kim Min Jong appeared in Episode 13 as himself, performing a duet with Sam Cheon Po (Kim Sung Kyun) at Na Jung’s wedding. Fans expected their stellar performance of the song to be released as it was, but the track ended up being recorded by the actors playing the three husband candidates, Tras, Chil Bong and Haitai instead.

Lee Sang Hoon, who worked on Roy Kim’s “Seoul, Here” and Hi.Ni’s “Can’t Have You,” both remakes of old hits, also arranged and produced “Feeling Only You,” making the trio’s characters in the drama come to life. The funky electric guitar and bass provide a cheerful background, and the addition of the retro synthesizer and brass help bring back memories of the original song’s era. The trio’s distinctive voices add an interesting flavor to the track, while the upbeat nature of the song makes it perfectly appropriate for the Christmas season,

“Reply 1994” OST songs have been receiving huge popularity on the charts, and this track is likely to do the same, what with the three actors partaking in this recording.

Some may have assumed Haitai was out of the running, but maybe this music video is hinting that he does stand a chance once he’s done with his military service. While we do also get a few touching Chil Bong scenes, the music video starts and ends with Trash and Na Jung. With six episodes left, we’ll just have to sit tight and keep watching.

“Reply 1994” Episodes 16 and 17 air this Friday and Saturday at 8:50 PM KST on tvN, with cameos by the cast of “Reply 1997.”
