“Real Men” Looking for New Recruits, Jang Hyuk and Possibly Others to Step Down

It looks like MBC’s “Sunday Night – Real Men” will soon be seeing some changes.

CP Kwon Suk, who oversees “Sunday Night,” told OSEN on January 18, “There will be changes in the members in the near future. Some members will be stepping down from the show, and new members will be joining. It will not be a full member change, but we are in the middle of talks to see who will depart from the show.”

He said, “It will not be Season 2; rather, for the sake of continuity, you can think of it as taking in new recruits. We filmed from January 14-18, and there is sufficient material for broadcasting, so we still have some time. It’s too early to say when the first recording and broadcast with the reshuffled lineup will be.”

One of the members who has confirmed that he is stepping down is actor Jang Hyuk. He’s decided to step down to concentrate on his acting. However, rumors of ZE:A‘s Park Hyung Sik leaving the show are unfounded. His agency stated that there have been no discussions to leave the show. “We know that the production is in talks with some members, but on our side, we have clearly stated that we want to continue on the show.”

“Real Men” will air the section with the Baekgol Unit up till this weekend. Beginning from next week, the members will join the 17th Infantry Division “Lightning,” with the number of episodes depending on the editing process. All things considered, the current line up should remain the same until the end of next month, and we should expect to see the new team on screen by early March.

MBC’s “Real Men” is an army reality program, and its current celebrity lineup features Kim Soo Ro, Jang Hyuk, Sam Hammington, ZE:A’s Park Hyung Sik, Ryu Soo Young, Seo Kyung Suk and Son Jin Young.
