Lee Sem and Eunji Are Leaving Nine Muses and Starting Individual Activities

On January 29, Nine Muses’ agency Star Empire announced, “Members Lee Sem (Lee Hyun Joo) and Eun Ji (Park Eun Ji), after 4 years on the team, have announced that they will be ‘graduating’ from Nine Muses.” 

Nine Muses debuted in August of 2010 under the unique concept of ‘model idols,’ and since then, with the withdrawal (‘graduation’) of members Rana, Jaekyung, and Bini, and then the addition of members Hyuna, Kyungri, and Sungah, the group has gone back and forth from 9 members, to 7, and back to 9 again. Now, with the withdrawal of Lee Sem and Eunji, the group will be 7 once again.

An official at the agency said, “We decided to respect Lee Sem and Eunji’s personal wishes to leave the group and start individual activities. We believe it’s our duty to do so as their agency. Even after their withdrawal, they will maintain their management contract and stay at the agency.” 

In light of the two members’ ‘graduation,’ Nine Muses even took some final group photos in support of Lee Sem and Eunji, showing their everlasting friendship.

After leaving the group, Eunji and Lee Sem will start focusing on MC and variety activities in 2014, although the full details of their activities are still being discussed. The remaining 7 Nine Muses members will be taking a break for the time being.
