"Idol Star Athletics Championships" Returns to TV, Recording to Take Place Today

MBC‘s Lunar New Year special “Idol Star Athletics Championships” will be once again returning to TV screens with the nation’s favorite idol stars.

Concerned with the number of injuries caused to the stars due to the program, MBC previously did not plan the event in 2014. However, the special program will be once again returning for broadcast, with the recording taking place today, January 31.

This year’s “Idol Star Athletics Championships” will be hosted by MC’s Jun Hyun Moo and Kim Sung Joo. Jun Hyun Moo is close to numerous idol stars through his broadcast activities, while Kim Sung Joo has worked on various sport broadcasts, including the 2014 Brazil World Cup.

This year’s program will also be a “legend” special, with many stars who showed great athletic prowess on previous broadcasts returning for yet another competition.

Although the official roster has yet to be announced, it was revealed earlier that Beast‘s Yoon Doojoon and Lee Kikwang, SHINee‘s Minho, and EXO‘s Xiumin will be participating in the event.
