Actor Jung Woo Sung has been working as an honorary advocate of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) since 2014. His role is to raise awareness of the issues that refugees face through promotional activities, thereby helping refugees across the globe.
On May 8, the UNHCR announced that Jung Woo Sung has donated 50 million won (approx. $46,000 USD) to the organization’s relief fund for victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal.
According to a representative from the UNHCR, Jung Woo Sung stated, “I hope that this donation will provide even a small bit of aid to the people who have lost their homes and are suffering due to the terrible earthquake.”
Last November, Jung Woo Sung traveled to Nepal to meet refugees who were from Bhutan, Somalia, Pakistan, and Tibet.
