BTS’s new Japanese release has taken No. 1 on Oricon’s daily album chart!

“Map Of The Soul: 7 -The Journey-” was shared by BTS on July 15 as their fourth full Japanese album. It includes 13 songs in total, with Japanese versions of many of their Korean tracks and two new original Japanese songs: the title track “Stay Gold” and “Your Eyes Tell,” which was co-written by Jungkook.

On the daily albums chart for July 14 of Japan’s largest music statistics site Oricon, “Map Of The Soul: 7 -The Journey-” grabs No. 1 with estimated sales of 447,869.

This is now BTS’s personal best for first-day Japanese album sales on Oricon, as their last Japanese album “Face Yourself” sold 188,085 copies in the first day of its release in April 2018.

Recently, BTS became the first foreign artist since Michael Jackson 36 years ago to top Oricon’s mid-year album sales chart, with their Korean album “Map of the Soul: 7” selling 429,000 copies in Japan. “Map Of The Soul: 7 -The Journey-” has now already surpassed that number in just one day!
