Jung Eun Chae Reflects On Her Most Beloved Roles, Staying Flexible As An Actress, And More
Actress Jung Eun Chae recently participated in a photo shoot for the fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar Korea!
In the interview that followed the photo shoot, Jung Eun Chae shared her thoughts on acting.
When asked about playing roles that resonated strongly with the viewers—such as Hyun Joo, the wealthy daughter in “Anna,” and Ok Kyung, the cross-dressing woman in “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born,” she shared, “Now I know what it feels like when a character is loved—it was a refreshing experience. After deciding on a project, I go through a process of getting closer to the character, imagining things both in terms of acting and appearance. When filming begins, all that imagining comes to life and deepens until it starts to feel like the character is my own. That’s when I feel the happiest.”
When asked about the attitude she never wants to lose as an actress, she replied, “Flexibility. I’ve learned how important that attitude is when acting. I really feel that acting isn’t a monologue—it’s about chemistry. I’ve been lucky to work with colleagues I can’t help but love. Everyone I’ve acted with has looked beautiful to me, and I’ve experienced real synergy.”
As for how long she hopes to continue acting, she commented, “I think an actor’s life is a unique one—you can’t fully choose when it begins or ends. I have no idea how the end will come, but in my heart, I’d love to keep doing this for a very long time. I think constantly encountering and sensing new things is one of life’s greatest gifts. If I’m given that opportunity, I see no reason to turn it down.”
