Seohyun Radiates Main Character Energy As She Becomes Life Of The Party In “The First Night With The Duke”

Seohyun’s unexpected “rebellion” will shake up the entire town in KBS2’s upcoming drama “The First Night With the Duke”!

“The First Night with the Duke” is a fantasy romance drama about an ordinary college student whose soul is transported into a minor character in a romance novel, Cha Sun Chaek (Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun). After waking up in the world of the novel, she ends up spending the night with the obsessive male lead, Yi Beon (2PM’s Taecyeon).

In the original story, Cha Sun Chaek is the youngest daughter of a powerful noble family, blessed with wealth and status but lacking any standout traits or narrative significance—so much so that she barely registers as more than background scenery.

However, everything changes when the soul of an avid reader, a modern-day college student known as “K,” enters her body. With full knowledge of the novel’s plot and world-building, the newly awakened Cha Sun Chaek begins to act in bold, unpredictable ways—raising anticipation for the chaos her transformation might unleash.

In newly released stills, Cha Sun Chaek steals the spotlight at a high-society gathering. Surrounded by fellow noblewomen and onlookers, she is beaming with excitement as she holds up a bottle of liquor, radiating a magnetic presence that’s anything but minor character material.

Even more striking, she confidently mixes alcohol bombs with expert flair, completely taking charge of the atmosphere. Her unexpected boldness is set to overshadow even the novel’s resident villainess, Do Hwa Seon (Chi Hae Won). Why has she ditched grace for pure fire? And what kind of ripple effect will her explosive presence have on the story?

“The First Night with the Duke” premieres on June 11 at 9:50 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
