2NE1's Sandara Park in Tattoos for "Ugly" MV

2NE1’s Sandara Park has tattoos all over her left arm. Also, Park Bom has extremely long eyebrows. Why?

2NE1 has been extremely successful with their recent songs, “Don’t Cry” in April, “Lonely” and “I Am the Best” in May and June. Each single has been a hit and their success is even more admirable because of challenges from the singles from MBC’s “Survival: I Am a Singer” and “Infinity Challenge.” Despite all this success, 2NE1 still sees themselves as rookies.

Star News met with 2NE1 on July 18th for the filming of the “Ugly” music video. “Ugly” will be released on June 28th. The filming was two days after finishing their Singapore concert and one day after receiving an award on SBS’ “Inkigayo.

Sandara Park said, “’Ugly’ is a song about rejecting the norm, it has a rock melody and sound.” (She was hinting at the fact that 2NE1 is trying out a new challenge.)

Park Bom said, “’Ugly’ has a strong melody but it conflicts with the very sad lyrics, honestly the moment I heard the song I actually cried.

Star News asked about their current success. CL, “I don’t think we should be content with our results now but continue to move forward, soon we will release a new mini album, and we still have a concert left over.

Park Bom, “I was honestly worried if fans would love the songs because it had been a while since we had come back, I am so thankful that you loved the songs.

2NE1 also talked about other girl groups.

Minzy, “I think all girl groups have their own styles and personality, therefore I don’t feel too much competition because we are all different. I hope that each team will enrich K Pop more.

2NE1 did not forget to thank the oversea fans.

After hearing about how “Lonely” had over 10 million views, CL said, “When I was at a foreign concert and fans were singing along to our song it was amazing and memorable, of course I feel motivated to strive harder.

She continued, “After finishing up activities of the new mini album, I hope that our first individual concert in August will be successful, we will show you different sides of us and in September we will begin to expand into the Japanese industry, please cheer us on.
