Girls’ Generation Subway Station?!?

On Saturday’s episode of SBS’ “Running Man,” the members were given a mission to find a Girls’ Generation (SNSD) subway station. Host and comedian Yoo Jae Suk immediately answered, “Seo Hyun Station!” While the station, just outside of Seoul in Kyeonggido Bundang, was not named after the young celebrity, it has received much attention for having the same name as the Girls’ Generation’s youngest member.

Monday, May 16th is Korea’s Coming-of-Age day and is celebrated by those turning twenty that year. This year, those born in 1991 will celebrate their coming-of-age; and an avid fan, nicknamed Sweet Potato Garden, got together to publish an ad at Seo Hyun station congratulating Seo Hyun’s coming-of-age. One fan tweeted, “There was a congratulatory poster ad to Seo Hyun at Seo Hyun Station!” along with a picture of the ad. The poster also features photos from Seo Hyun’s audition and debut days.

Other celebrities who come of age today include KARA’s Goo Hara and Nicole, 2NE’s CL, 2AM’s Jung Ji Woon, CNBlue’s Jung Shin and Min Hyuk, and SHINee’s Min Ho and Key.
