Happy "Fly to the Sky Day" in San Francisco!

Today is a very special day for fans of Fly to the Sky, Hwanhee, and Brian Joo!

Three years ago on this very day, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom declared July 27th Fly to the Sky Day” to honor the duo for promoting relationships and economic development between South Korea and the County of San Francisco through music. 

The proclamation also recognizes the ingenuity, creativity, and many musical accomplishments of Brian and Hwanhee, which include creating their own music, continuously topping music charts, and receiving the prestigious Bonsang Award at the 2003 and 2006 Golden Disk Awards

Fly to the Sky holds a tie to San Francisco as they filmed their 2002 hit track “Sea of Love” in front of the famous Golden Gate Bridge and Palace of Fine Arts. Concerning the greater Bay Area, the duo also held at concert at the Chabot College Performing Arts Center in Hayward, a city on the East Bay on July 27th, 2008. Also, Brian Joo recently held a performance at San Francisco’s Club NV last month.

In the meantime, the two men have continued on with their solo music careers. Hwanhee has just released a teaser for his upcoming album which will drop on July 29th. Brian recently held a showcase in Shanghai on July 23rd, and is focusing on practicing for his upcoming musical “RENT.”
