Jang Geun Suk Makes Surprise Appearance During Kim Ha Neul's Acceptance Speech

Actor Jang Geun Suk made a surprise appearance on the stage of the Daejong Film Festival during Kim Ha Neul’s acceptance speech for the Best Actress award. 

On October 17, the 48th Daejong Film Festival was held at the Sejong Performing Arts Center. While Kim Ha Neul was tearfully accepting her award for Best Actress, Jang Geun Suk went up on stage and gave her a bouquet of flowers. 

Along with the flowers, he said with a big smile, “When I heard that nuna (what younger guys call older girls) was a nominee, as soon as school ended, I bought some flowers and came right away.” He also gave a comical proclamation, advertising his new movie by saying, “Please stay tuned for nuna’s and my new movie ‘You’re My Pet‘ coming soon!”

On this day, during her acceptance speech, Kim Ha Neul shed a flood of tears, saying, “I don’t know what to say – I’m so nervous.”

She continued to say, “Acting was so hard and difficult and I always thought that I should quit. But as time went by, I realized that this may be a time to find out who I am and starting from some point, I truly came to love what I’m doing. Thank you so much for allowing me to stand here at such an honorable place.”

In her debut thriller, “Blind,” Kim Ha Neul plays the role of a blind woman for the first time and received the highest of praises. People commented that this movie was a “resdiscovery for Kim Ha Neul” and the movie enjoyed great success.
