Jang Geun Suk to Win Twice at 2010 Yahoo! Buzz Awards

Jang Geun Suk is popular!  The actor will likely receive not one, but two awards at the upcoming 2010 Yahoo! Buzz Awards.  The Yahoo! Buzz Awards recognizes celebrities based on the “buzz”, or number of searches, received on the Yahoo! search engine.  The awards are in their seventh year.

Jang’s agency, Tree J. Entertainment, says that Jang led two polls among Internet users in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Indonesia for top male star and top Asian star.  The polls ran between November 8 to December 1.

Although the results have not been officially announced, it is almost safe to say that Jang Geun Suk will be the winner.  At poll closing time, his name garnered over 5.6 million votes for top male star, twice the number of the closest runner-up.  His results for top Asian star were even more impressive: nearly 10 million votes.

The results were no joke, as Jang Geun Suk faced stiff competition from fellow poll contestants SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong, Rain, Lee Seung Gi, 2PM, and Super Junior.

Yahoo! will announce the results on December 9, and the winners will be invited to the award ceremony in Hong Kong on December 17.
