Kara Extends Contract with Universal Music Japan

As we reported earlier in February, Kara’s contract with Universal Music Japan will expire in August 2012.That is why DSP Media, Kara, and Universal Music Japan were discussing the contract. At the time, DSP Media also reported that there were “no contractual issues.”

It looks like Kara has extended their contract with Universal Music Japan after all! DSP Media stated on March 27, “Kara’s contract with Universal Music Japan was going to expire in August 2012. However we have extended the contract for a year and 4 months. The contract is now extended to December 2013.”

They also stated, “Also, the tickets for the Japanese tour that will begin in April were all sold out on March 20. Kara is continuing to show a strong following in Japan.”

Kara’s Japanese tour will begin in Yokohama on April 14.
