Kim Myung Min, Favorite Actor to Play Autistic Role

Actor Kim Myung Min was picked as the best actor to play an autistic role in a recent poll conducted in time for the release of the movie “My Name is Khan.” PR agency Hanuel said in a press release, “Kim Myung Min was voted #1 in a Nate (Korean portal site) survey that asked ‘Which actor would best play an Asperger Syndrome (autism) patient?’ with an overwhelming number of votes.”

“My Name is Khan,” directed by Karan Johar, is a movie about a man’s journey to meet the President of the United States. The protagonist Khan, played by Indian actor Shahrukh Khan, is a genius with a 168 IQ but also suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome.

Much like Khan, this survey asked for the best actor to play an Asperger’s Syndrome patient, and Kim Myung Min was the fan favorite with an overwhelming 59% of the votes. Kim Myung Min is well-known for his dedication and commitment to acting as he dropped over 20kg (44lbs) to play the role of Jong Woo, a patient suffering from Lou Gehrig’s Disease, in his 2009 film “My Love by My Side.” Jo Seung Woo, who played an autistic role in his 2005 film “Marathon,” came in at second, followed by Kang Dong Won, Hyun Bin, and Go Soo.
