"Love Rain" Releases Poster Stills of Jang Geun Suk and Girls' Generation YoonA

With less than a week until its premiere, KBS’s upcoming melodrama “Love Rain” released poster shots of its lead actors Jang Geun Suk and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA

Recently, the cast of “Love Rain” gathered at a studio in Gangnam for the poster shoot. Jang Geun Suk (who plays 1970s Seo In Ha/2012 Seo Joon), YoonA (1970s Kim Yoon Hee/2012 Jung Ha Na), Lee Mi Sook (2012 Kim Yoon Hee), Jung Jin Young (2012 Seo In Ha), Kim Shi Hoo (1970s Lee Dong Wook/2012 Lee Sun Ho) Kim Young Kwang (2012 Han Tae Sung), and others participated in the shoot. During the shoot, everyone showed great teamwork and chemistry with each other. Director Yoon Seuk Ho looked over the shoot and meticulously directed which props to use and where it should be placed. He commented, “It’s amazing how much Jang Geun Suk, YoonA, and Kim Shi Hoo changed, both physically and mentally, from their 1970s characters.”

In case you were wondering why some of the actors were playing two roles, “Love Rain” is a melo-love story set in two different periods – the 1970s and 2012. Jang Geun Suk and YoonA play Seo In Ha and Kim Yoon Hee, two college students who fall in love with each other in the 1970s; unfortunately, the two do not get their happily ever after. Fast forward to the present, Seo Joon, In Ha’s son (also played by Jang Geun Suk) meets and falls in love with Ha Na, Yoon Hee’s daughter (also played by YoonA). Jang Geun Suk’s 1970s Seo In Ha is a romantic arts student who is willing to lay down his life for the love of his life. His son Seo Joon, on the other hand, is a carefree photographer who enjoys a freewheeling lifestyle. YoonA’s 1970s Kim Yoon Hee is a pure, elegant “campus goddess,” while her daughter Ha Na is a bright and lovable character.

Director Yoon Seok Ho and writer Oh Soo Yeon, the masterminds behind the sensational melodramas “Winter Sonata” and “Autumn in my Heart” have teamed up once again to produce “Love Rain.” With the combination of Jang Geun Suk, YoonA, director Yoon Seok Ho, and writer Oh Soo Yeon, it doesn’t come as a surprise that “Love Rain” has already secured a Japanese broadcaster.

“Love Rain” will premiere on KBS on March 26 at 9:55PM KST.
