MTV: “2NE1 Could Give Lady Gaga a Run for Her Money”

2NE1 was mentioned at the same level as mega pop star Lady Gaga in a recent MTV interview with renowned music critic and reviewer Julianne Shepherd.

In the interview conducted as part of the MTV Iggy’s “Best New Band in the World 2011” Award, Shepherd praised 2NE1 very highly, complimenting their music, style, and personality (2NE1’s part begins at the 2:18 mark).

“They have great style, they are fun, and they are experimental. I think they could give Lady Gaga a run for her money. They definitely have a very distinctive pop sound. I think they are amazing,” Shepherd said when talking about 2NE1.

2NE1 is one of the 10 artists from around the world nominated for MYV Iggy’s “Best New Band in the World 2011” Award. MTV Iggy is part of the MTV Networks with a focus on global music and pop culture.
