Park Jin Young Cast for Sequel of “Dream High”

JYP Entertainment’s founder Park Jin Young has been cast (again) for the sequel of immensely popular KBS drama “Dream High.”

“Park Jin Young will appear as a key link from season one to season two. We have the script till the third episode completed, and Park Jin Young’s character is included. He’s the only season one cast member to appear in the sequel as well. Unless there’s a huge change to the storyline, Park Jin Young will most likely appear in the show,” local media OSEN reported quoting an official from the drama series.

Park Jin Young made his acting debut through the first season of “Dream High.” His role, Yang Jin Man, was a poor English teacher that was in charge of the student’s musical activities. His comical expressions and impressive acting resulted in the nomination of “New Actor of the Year” award at the famed Baek Sang Arts Awards.

Meanwhile, “Dream High 2” will air its first episode on January 30. The filming staff is currently busy finalizing on the cast as they are auditioning several candidates. Final casting is expected by the end of the month with the first script reading taking place in early December.

Just like the first season, “Dream High 2” will also be jointly produced by Bae Yong Joons Key East Entertainment and JYP Entertainment. The first season of the show that aired last January has been one of the most popular drama series of the year with a star-studded line up of 2PM’s Taecyeon, Woo Young, miss A’s Suzy, T-ara’s Eunjung, Kim Soo Hyun, Park Jin Young, Bae Yong Joon, and IU.
