T-ara Tops Oricon Daily Singles Chart on Day of Debut

T-ara is off to a fantastic start with their debut in Japan, as they’ve pulled off the feat of topping the Oricon single daily chart on the actual day of their release of “Bo Peep Bo Peep!”

On September 28, the girls released their debut Japanese single, which sold 20,068 copies within the first day. If the girls continue this momentum, they could be well on their way to breaking the records set by some of their fellow girl groups.

The current top record is held by SNSD‘s “Gee,” which sold 44,907 copies in the first week. KARA‘s “Mister” follows in at second with 29,238 copies, Rainbow‘s “A” in third with 24,028 copies, and After School’s “Bang!” with 23,760 copies.

Only time can tell, but their cute image seems to be a hit with the Japanese market.

Also today, DBSK topped the daily albums chart.
