The One and Only MC Yoo Jae Suk Taking Over Variety Shows

Currently, MC Yoo Jae Suk has taken over the MC position of most of the three major T.V. stations’ (MBC, KBS 2TV, and SBS) popular variety shows. He has become so popular that no one really knows how far behind the other MCs are in terms of popularity.

One of the reasons why MC Yoo Jae Suk has become more popular is due to the sudden retirement of MC Kang Ho Dong who was practically his only rival. Now going solo, MC Yoo Jae Suk has risen to the top with his smooth and comical communication skills.

According to the readings by AGB Nielson, MC Yoo Jae Suk’s main program, MBC “Infinity Challenge,” recorded a national viewer rating of 18.6% which placed the show on the top of the list for Saturday variety shows. Until recently, MBC “Quiz That Changes the World”  was the most popular out of all Saturday variety shows, but this weekend, the show dropped down to second place after receving a viewer rating of 13.9%. In addition, SBS “Star King,” a show that was hosted by MC Kang Ho Dong, received a viewer rating of 10.1% which placed the show out of the competition.

MC Yoo Jae Suk is currently busy hosting “Come To Play” on Mondays and “Happy Together” on Thursdays. He’s even busier on the weekends sharing his talent as a MC as he travels from one T.V. station to another hosting multiple shows.

Until the retirement of MC Kang Ho Dong, the show that MC Yoo Jae Suk hosts on Sundays, SBS “Running Man,” fell behind KBS 2TV “Hapy Sunday.” Now, “Running Man” is the number one variety show on Sundays.
Many people believe that one of the reasons why “Running Man” is back at the top is not only because of MC Kang Ho Dong’s retirement, but also due to MC Yoo Jae Suk’s hard work and dedication. With his help, each member of “Running Man” has finally built an individual character that makes the games more fun to watch. 

“Running Man” has now reached to the point where some people are saying that it won’t be like the season two of “Family Outing” when many people thought SBS did not have a chance of beating “1 Night 2 Days” in terms of popularity on Sundays. In reality, “1 Night 2 Days” is already in a very unstable position so many people are thinking that the real showdown will take place next spring when the second season of “1 Night 2 Days”  will start with new members. Until then, MC Yoo Jae Suk will most likely stay as the leader of variety shows.
