SOOMPI is hosting a photo contest to give away a ton of tickets to the Peace Concert 2008 at USC in Los Angeles where the biggest stars in Korean music and entertainment will be performing for you! It can be a photo, a collage, a drawing -- use your imagination! The only requirement is that you include the SOOMPI logo :D. A special contest gallery is being created for this contest and entries can be uploaded here starting March 1 till March 8th. Everyone here on SOOMPI.com will see it, so be creative! Voting will begin on March 9th and go until March 19th. Only folks with registered SOOMPI accounts can vote, but you can invite your friends to sign-up on SOOMPI.com to vote for your photo. Get the most votes and win! On March 20th, the top 5 pictures with the most votes will receive four tickets each for the concert - make it a party with your friends:D The next 5 runner-ups will each receive a pair of tickets as well! Good luck everyone!!! The official contest photo gallery will begin accepting entries here on this page beginning March 1 until March 8. Official Rules1. All entries must be either .jpg, .gif, or .png images, maximum size of 800x600. 2. When submitting entries, an image title will be required and a description will be optional. 3. Members can upload as many entries as they want during the contest entry period from March 1st to March 8th 4. All entries must contain the SOOMPI logo. 5. Voting will be open from March 9th to March 19th. 6. Members will be allowed to vote for five different entries each day during the voting period. 7. Each "date" or "day" for submitting entries and voting is 12am to 11:59pm PST. After submitting your entry, you will be able to invite your friends (SOOMPI members or not!) to come vote for your entry, but people new to SOOMPI will need to create an account to vote. To avoid the random creation of fake accounts to influence voting, we will be watching IP addresses for any funny business - we all play fair here!!! During the voting period, we will show the daily ranking of the entries by vote, but will not be displaying the vote counts. GOOD LUCK!!!! Fighting!!!! Not everyone has photoshop or is good at it. Yes, I used Photoshop but thats not really my point.
What i am trying to say is that, there are some contestants in the forums 411 section saying PLEASE VOTE FOR ME VOTE FOR ME!!! They shouldn't win based on how many soompi friends they have.I know its really up to the person to vote or not but I feel like thats kinda cheating.
If you're gonna ask someone to vote for you, it should be outside of soompi or let the soompiers vote from their hearts.
This is just something i wanted to say because there are some people doing that in the 411 section and I do not think that is fair.
If you think my comment is stupid, then just please ignore me.

Since SOOMPI gets so many hits from people around the world, sometimes the websites servers we have get overloaded by the all the traffic. If you had trouble uploading your file and miss the deadline, PM me at soompi_coder on the main site.

i don't know if it is just today..
..but there are some serious glitches with the website.
the pages won't load sometimes and images won't appear for certain entries. also, one person's image entry may appear twice: (1) where it should be + (2) replacing another user's image. o_____o

converting word doc to jpeg

here is a link i found that explains a few different ways to convert a .doc to a .jpeg or other image file. one of those solutions should work for you:)

i made my entry poster...but it's 800 height by 600 width...is that okay...i didn't notice that it was supposed to be 800 width (not height) & 600 height (not width) until i was about to submit my entry...

any software program you like:)
you can make a banner using any program or combination of programs you like - word, photoshop, illustrator, open office, OR it can even be just a beautiful picture that you take using a regular camera or camera phone with no touchups whatsoever- the important part is that it expresses your love for k-pop:)
