“Suspicious Partner” Viewer Ratings Hits All-Time High As Storyline Intensifies

Suspicious Partner” has broken its previous viewership ratings record!

Episode 26 recorded a general viewership ratings high of 11.7 percent in metropolitan areas and 10.5 percent nationwide.

The 2049 ratings also hit an all-time high. 2049 ratings calculate viewership for viewers between their twenties and forties and also includes factors like streaming and social media that are not considered in the general ratings. On June 15, the 2049 ratings were 4.3 percent and 5.7 percent for episodes 23 and 24, but on June 21, “Suspicious Partner” reached 5.2 percent and 7.3 percent for episodes 25 and 26. This is much higher than MBC’s “Ruler: Master of the Mask,” which hit 4.1 percent and 4.9 percent, and KBS2’s “Queen for 7 Days,” which gathered 1.5 percent ratings.

A noteworthy achievement is that the ratings for episode 26 (7.3 percent) was higher than any TV show, including all dramas, variety shows, documentaries, and news, that aired on any TV channel between June 19 and June 21. It took first place among all dramas from Monday to Thursday, and it was also its fourth consecutive time topping the Wednesday-Thursday time slot.

Spoiler

Previously on episodes 25 and 26, Chief Bang (Jang Hyuk Jin) was stabbed by Hyun Soo (Dong Ha) and was rushed to the hospital. Ji Wook was determined to take revenge, and when Hyun Soo came to the hospital, Ji Wook got into a fight with him and ended up in jail. Then, Bong Hee (Nam Ji Hyun) and Eun Hyuk (Choi Tae Joon) investigated Hyun Soo’s house and found a knife. They could have used it to manipulate evidence and prove that Hyun Soo is the culprit, but Ji Wook thought better of it. However, somebody put that knife back in Hyun Soo’s house, and it was discovered by Yoo Jung (Hello Venus’s Nara). Soon after, an intense car chase began, and Hyun Soo got hit by a car. The camera shifted to Chief Bang, who moved his finger, indicating that he may regain consciousness.

A source from SBS drama stated, “‘Suspicious Partner’ is entering the second half of its story. The romance is tugging at viewers’ heartstrings, and the mystery is becoming more complicated, which is why the drama was able to dominate the 2049 ratings from Monday to Thursday. The June 22 broadcast will not only include Ji Wook and Bong Hee’s love story and more about Hyun Soo’s accident, but it will also show something very surprising. You can look forward to it.”
