Lee Byung Hun To Star As Lead In

Actor Lee Byung Hun has just been cast for the lead role in writer Kim Eun Sook’s latest drama, “Mr. Sunshine,” which means he will be returning to the small screen after eight years. Previously, Kim Eun Sook has written many hit dramas including “Descendants of the Sun” and “Goblin.”

On June 24, a representative from the drama’s production company confirmed Lee Byung Hun’s casting. They also revealed that the drama will be set in the 1900’s and will tell the story of soldiers who are not written as part of Korea’s history.

The production company commented, “There are a lot of things to prepare for this drama, so we wanted to get the casting done right away. Our writer, Kim Eun Sook, told us that she wanted the male lead to be someone who is experienced in acting and is good at speaking English, so Lee Byung Hun was a perfect fit. We are very excited to work with him.”

Meanwhile, besides Lee Byung Hun, the cast and broadcast station has not yet been determined. However, it has been confirmed that “Mr. Sunshine” is set to premiere in the later half of 2017.
