Teenager Arrested For Fraud After

A teenager who took 10 million won (approximately $8,811 US dollars) from his victims with a “Produce 101 Season 2” concert ticket scam was arrested.

On June 24, Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo Police Agency revealed that they have arrested a 17-year-old boy for fraud.

According to police, this teenager made a post on a Facebook page called “Produce 101 Fans” stating that he is selling concert tickets. From more than 240 victims, he received about 10 million won in total.

He sold a ‘happy box’ that contained surprise items that he didn’t reveal, and said that there would be tickets in the box. He charged 13,000 won (approximately $11.45 US dollars) for each box, but did not mail out the boxes. He testified, “It was because there were a lot of things I had to use the money on.”

Police said, “There were about 240 confirmed victims, but tens of thousands of people follow that page.” They are investigating whether there are any other victims.

The top 35 trainees of “Produce 101 Season 2” will be holding concerts on July 1 and 2 in Seoul, ahead of the finalist group’s debut as Wanna One.
