10cm Announces Yoon Cheol Jong Is Leaving Band Due To Health Issues

10cm has sadly announced that one half of the popular indie duo, guitarist Yoon Cheol Jong, has decided to leave the band.

On July 4, 10cm’s Facebook page posted a message from their agency Magic Strawberry Sound. It stated that Yoon Cheol Jong revealed his intention to withdraw from the band due to health reasons when his exclusive contract expired at the end of June and they were discussing the possibility of renewal.

In respect of Yoon Cheol Jong’s stated intention to leave the band, and after long discussion with the band members, it was decided that his contract would be terminated.

10cm will continue as a one-man band with vocalist Kwon Jung Yeol on his own under the name of 10cm, without recruiting new members. The band’s scheduled events for July onwards will not be changing, and 10cm’s fourth album will be released as planned at the end of August.

Magic Strawberry Sound expressed that although Yoon Cheol Jong’s withdrawal from the band is a sad matter, they believe that the recovery from his health concerns comes first.

10cm made a splash in the indie scene when they debuted in 2010 with their first mini album, and went on to become a household name with hits such as “Americano,” “Fine Thank You And You?,” “Hold Me,” and “What the Spring?”.

We wish Yoon Cheol Jong all the best in his recovery.
