The Barberettes's New Title Track Was Inspired By Wanna One's Kang Daniel

Korean doo-wop trio The Barberettes are fans of Wanna One’s Kang Daniel, and they’ve even written a song about him!

On July 5 at 6 p.m. KST, the group released their new single “Summer,” which contains three tracks including “SHOO.”

On the same day, member An Shinae, who composed, wrote, and arranged the song, posted on her Instagram, “Our title track ‘SHOO’ was inspired by the happy and heart-fluttering feeling that comes from my first experience of fangirling over an idol, thanks to Kang Daniel. If you can relate to the lyrics, you’re already a serious ‘Peach’ (fan of Kang Daniel).”

Some of the lyrics of “SHOO” are, “All of a sudden you’re in my thoughts. I like you. When I think of you, my mind goes blank. You make my heart pound when you smile.”

The Barberettes is a “time traveling” group that reinterprets the vocal style of the 50s and 60s in a modern way. They are inspired by the Kim Sisters from Korea, and the Andrew Sisters from the United States.

Meanwhile, The Barberettes will go on a tour around European countries Spain, Portugal, and France for three weeks starting mid-July.
