SURPRISE U Talks Future Goals As An Actor Group And How They're Different From 5URPRISE

Actor group SURPRISE U shared their thoughts on their debut.

On July 7, SURPRISE U held their debut showcase. During the showcase, they showed off a number of their talents by performing their debut single, as well as showing highlight parts of their web drama, “The Acting Idol” (working title).

The group will focus on not just acting, but also singing and dancing, hoping to truly become multi-talented “actor-tainers” (actor + entertainer).

SURPRISE U consists of rookie actors Kim Hyun Seo, Yoon Jung Hyuk, Eun Hae Sung, Ji Gun Woo, and Cha In Ha. They hope to show off as much of their talent as possible as part of the group and also individually.

Their leader Yoon Jung Hyuk said, “Since we hope to become multi-talented entertainers, we would like to become a group that is known not just for good acting, but also dancing, singing, variety shows, and commercials.”

They also spoke about how they are different from their senior group, 5URPRISE (Seo Kang Joon, Gong Myung, Yoo Il, Kang Tae Oh, Lee Tae Hwan). They said, “Our seniors paved the way for us, so we start at a different spot than them. As we received so much from them, we felt that we need to work that much harder. The nice thing is that our seniors have shown us the great results already, so we have confidence moving forward.”

Since 5URPRISE was such a success, SURPRISE U said, “It would be a lie to say that there is no pressure.” However, they said confidently, “We have different charms from 5URPRISE, and since all of us are good at acting, singing, and dancing, we truly believe that we can be as successful as our seniors.”
