RBW Trainee Son Dong Myung From "Produce 101 Season 2" Talks About A Comment His Mother Left On His Fancam

RBW Entertainment trainee Son Dong Myung from “Produce 101 Season 2” participated in an interview and recalled a time when his mother left a cute comment on his fan cam.

Asked if he reads the comments netizens post about him, he said, “It would be a lie if I said I didn’t,” and shared a story about his mother.

“I saw a comment that I could easily tell was my mom’s. It said, ‘So talented,’ and had a bunch of emojis people my mom’s age often use, so I could immediately tell [it was my mom’s.] So I took a screenshot of it and sent it to her, and she said, ‘How did you know [it was me]?’ Even though it was really obvious.”

Son Dong Myung also revealed that he first met the other RBW trainees a week before the show’s first recording. “In the beginning, we were very awkward around each other, but we soon became so close that it makes me wonder how we got so close in such a short amount of time. We pulled all-nighters together preparing for the agency performance, but sadly, it wasn’t broadcast. Still, I think I did well and felt less nervous in front of all those people.”

He then talked about the “Produce 101 Season 2” trainees he was most close with, saying, “I was close with everyone, so it’s hard to choose just one person. I was close with my roommates Ahn Hyung Seob and Joo Hak Nyeon in the beginning, and I later became close with Lee Dae Hwi and Park Ji Hoon.”

At the end of the interview, he was asked about his ambitions for the future. “You will most likely be seeing me as part of band MAS. I say this all the time, but when we say K-Pop, everyone thinks of idols, not bands. You could say it isn’t mainstream, but it’s a music genre with many amazing artists. Like those senior artists, I want to create a new culture so that MAS will become the band people think of when given the word ‘K-Pop.'”

Meanwhile, Son Dong Myung will be the first RBW Entertainment trainee from “Produce 101 Season 2” to debut. He will be joining the band MAS and is aiming to debut within 2017.
