NU'EST's 2012 Song "Happy Birthday" Tops Real-Time Charts For 1st Time Ever For Baekho's Birthday

Fans prepared a special birthday gift for NU’EST’s Baekho.

At midnight KST on July 21, their song “Happy Birthday” topped Naver Music’s real-time charts. The song was performed by Baekho and was originally released as a track on NU’EST’s 2012 debut mini album.

This is the first time the song has ever topped a music chart since its release, and it was the result of fans banding together to celebrate Baekho’s birthday on July 21.

Four of the five members appeared on Mnet’s “Produce 101 Season 2” and captivated viewers with their passion and determination. Minhyun was chosen to become a member of Wanna One, and JR, Baekho, and Ren made it to the top 20 and participated in the finale.

Many of NU’EST’s other songs, most notably their 2013 song “Hello,” have also enjoyed success on various music charts and music show rankings after “Produce 101 Season 2.” And this is only the beginning for the group as they recently announced that JR, Baekho, Ren, and Aron will be performing as NU’EST W until Minhyun’s return. The new unit group will release a special single on July 25, their first new song in 11 months.

Not only this, but NU’EST has also been receiving love calls to appear in a variety of shows. JR will join the cast of JTBC’s “Night Goblin” (literal title) while Ren will join JTBC2’s “Learning the Hard Way” (literal title).
