EXO's Chen And Kai Reveal Which Of Their Performances Are Most Memorable

EXO’s Chen and Kai recently appeared on the July 27 broadcast of radio program “NCT’s Night Night,” and discussed some of their favorite stages over the years.

During the broadcast, a listener sent in a question that asked if there were any “legendary videos” that she should absolutely watch as a newer EXO fan.

Kai recommended their performances from the end-of-the-year ceremonies, and explained that it’s because those stages basically summarize what music they released throughout the year.

When NCT’s Jaehyun questioned which one of those performances stood out the most, Chen chose Kai’s performance of “Deep Breath” at the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards. Kai also named a performance from MAMA, but from 2013 instead. At the time, EXO performed a remix of their title tracks from that year, “Wolf” and “Growl.”

“It’s because at the time, D.O. hurt his ankle, but he endured the pain and finished the stage. We didn’t know that he was hurt at all while we were performing, but after we were done, he collapsed…It’s so touching to think about the fact that he held on just for the performance,” Kai explained. He jokingly added, “I don’t know if he would do that now though.”

Chen also recommended another performance, and said that one of their most memorable was their “El Dorado” stage from their 2015 concert tour, “EXO PLANET #2 – The EXO’luXion.”

NCT’s Johnny chimed in, “I think that Kai’s teaser videos released before their debut, and Chen’s recent cover of ‘Tears’ at ‘Ask Us Anything’ are also good [choices].”
