Ji Chang Wook, ASTRO, MXM's Kim Dong Hyun, And More Celebrities Recommend Summer Holiday Destinations

The summer holidays are here! If you still haven’t decided on where to go for your vacation, these celebrities have some great locations in store.

From actor Ji Chang Wook to idol group ASTRO, these busy celebrities recommended six destinations to meet your preference.

Jeju Island

Actors Ji Chang Wook and Oh Yeon Seo chose Jeju Island as their ideal vacation spot.

Ji Chang Wook, who is currently waiting for enlistment on August 14 after wrapping up the SBS drama “Suspicious Partner,” shared, “I want to go to Jeju Island or somewhere with a coastline or mountains with friends and family.”

Oh Yeon Seo, who recently wrapped up the SBS drama “My Sassy Girl” recommended Jeju Island as well.

Jeju Island is the shooting location for JTBC’s variety show “Hyori’s Homestay.” The island is known for its serene and beautiful natural landscape. If you’re down for delicious cuisine, various leisure activities, and mountain climbing, then Jeju Island is the place for you.

Hidden Vacation Spots In Korea

“Produce 101 Season 2” contestant and Brand New Music trainee Kim Dong Hyun recommended Sapsido Island in Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. Sapsido Island is the third biggest island in the Chungcheongnam-do province, and a popular destination for families. Kim Dong Hyun shared, “I remember having a good time with my family when I visited [the island] when I was young. I had fun collecting clams.”

Lee Elijah from KBS 2TV’s “Fight My Way” suggested Moonlight Moowol Village in Jeollanam-do, Korea. The name of the village means a village close to moonlight. Lee Elijah commented, “It’s pollution-free. Only people who know go there. You can find a different side to yourself,” and added, “There are no people, no TVs, no convenience stores, no nothing. Just nature.”

Kim Young Kwang from MBC’s “The Lookout” named Yeosu as his holiday destination. Yeosu is already famous as a tourist spot, and also the setting for Busker Busker’s song “Yeosu Night Sea.” Kim Young Kwang highly recommended fishing in Yeosu. He shared, “I went fishing for octopuses in Yeosu. But I caught none so I ended up eating them from a restaurant. But I want to try fishing as a hobby. You have to wait for a long time, and I find that time nice and relaxing.”

Australia

Hello Venus’ Nara, who debuted as an actress in SBS drama “Suspicious Partner,” mentioned Australia as her recommendation. She said, “I visited [Australia] in the winter to shoot a commercial. It was a relaxing country where you can experience nature. If you travel a little distance from the city, kangaroos run next to you and there is a desert as well.” She also advised, “I heard that Australia is much nicer when you go in the summer, when the weather is like autumn in Korea.”

Stay At Home

ASTRO advocated staying at home for the summer holidays. The members shared, “When we get a vacation during our break, there’s nothing better than staying at home and sleeping in bed with the air conditioner on.” Busy idol groups such as ASTRO must consider home the sweetest of all locations!
