NU'EST's Aron Shares That JR Cried When Their New Song "If You" Was Released

NU’EST’s Aron recently shared that JR cried the day their new song “If You” was released.

During their Naver V App broadcast on July 30, the two members expressed their excitement about releasing their first single album as the unit group NU’EST W. When Aron asked how JR felt about making a comeback for the first time in a while, JR replied, “I was really nervous, and because this was our first song in about a year, I was worried about whether our fans would like the song or not.”

Aron also added, “I was really nervous too, because I didn’t know what the response would be like. I think we were all really nervous. When the song was released, JR cried. And seeing him cry made me emotional.” JR explained, “I just couldn’t believe it. Before, it was hard for us to do well on the charts, and we’d fall out of the rankings in an hour or so. But when I heard that we had entered the charts in fourth place, I was so grateful and thought, ‘I can’t believe this is happening to us.'”

Aron and JR also mentioned Minhyun’s absence, as he is currently active as a member of Wanna One. Aron said, “This is NU’EST W’s debut single album. To be honest, I was really worried about the empty space left by the absence of one member. We’ll try to do our best so you don’t feel that absence, so please support us.”

JR also added, “We’ll be able to overcome this [temporary absence] because we’re all together. We’ve earned so many opportunities thanks to the interest people have taken in us. We’ll work even harder and bring more joy to you all. We promise.”

To conclude their conversation about their new single, the two members talked about how they felt when they heard “If You” for the first time. Aron said, “The first thought I had was that our fans were probably going to like the song,” while JR said with a smile, “I liked it because I had a lot of parts.”
