Girls’ Generation Hypes Up Their 10th Anniversary Comeback And Thanks Fans For Waiting
On August 1, Girls’ Generation held a V Live broadcast titled “Girls’ Generation PARTY Night” to celebrate their 10th anniversary and their upcoming comeback.
Since it was Tiffany’s birthday, the members brought out a cake and blew out the candles before doing it all over again for their anniversary. Seohyun joined the broadcast late due to filming for her drama “Bad Thief, Good Thief.”
Yuri shared an update on her ankle injury, while YoonA gave a tiny spoiler of their title track by singing a highlight. About their upcoming sixth studio album, they said, “After we heard the title track, we thought, ‘This is Girls’ Generation.’ The choreography reminded us of ‘Into the New World.’ The whole album reminds us of our first album.”
Sooyoung said, “Personally I like ‘All Night’ but I think people will like ‘Holiday’ the most.” Taeyeon picked “All Night” as her favorite but mentioned that she has a jinx when it comes to picking songs. Meanwhile, SHINee’s Jonghyun and Minho and Super Junior’s Eunhyuk popped in to congratulate Tiffany on her birthday.
After she’d joined them, Seohyun said, “We know how much SONEs waited for us. Thanks to that mindset, we’ve been able to make it through 10 years. Thank you.” Sooyoung added, “People have told us that they’ve completed their entire military service in the time it took for us to make a comeback. I felt sorry when I heard that. We’ll make really good memories [through this comeback].” YoonA said, “It’s thanks to SONEs that Girls’ Generation exists.”
Girls’ Generation will release their sixth studio album and double title tracks “All Night” and “Holiday” digitally on August 4 at 6 p.m. KST. Their physical album will drop on August 7.
