WINNER On What's Most Difficult For Them And Their Unheard Of Comeback Speed

Ahead of WINNER’s newest single release, the group held a late morning press conference on August 4.

The group talked a bit about what’s always difficult for them, as well as what it was like to reset as a four-member group. Kim Jinwoo said, on what was most difficult, “It’s the hiatus. I’m a bit older, and when we take breaks that are 12 to 18 months long, it’s, practically speaking, pretty difficult.”

Jinwoo continued, “If we didn’t do well after reorganizing as a four-member group, I think we would’ve been scared. It’s a relief that it turned out well, and I’d like it if WINNER continued to move forward, using the present as a stepping stone.”

WINNER made a comeback earlier this year. On being back after just four months, Kang Seung Yoon said, “We’re making a comeback sooner than we thought we would. It’s really fast; this is unprecedented at YG.”

He said that WINNER didn’t approach this comeback with the primary purpose of trying something different; rather, he said, “We just pursued music that would allow us to tell our stories.”

“OUR TWENTY FOR” is set to drop on August 4 at 4 p.m. KST.
