Mnet’s reality show “Idol School” has clarified their plans for their idol group fostering project.

In the fourth episode of “Idol School,” the first round of eight eliminated students were announced. Students who were eliminated based on viewer votes have lost their opportunity to debut this semester, and will be receiving training as members of a group of “regular students.”

The “regular students” will receive idol education and will participate in events tailored to their level.  The students will be given the opportunity to debut during the first or second half of next year if they are chosen by the voting viewers (called “members”).

A source from Mnet shared, “We are rolling out the mid to long-term goals for ‘Idol School,’ which was established to provide a new platform for those who dream to be singers.”

The source went on to explain, “Through this platform, our ultimate goal is to create a growing collaborative model in the music industry, which connects appropriate artists with talented domestic or overseas producers and agencies.”

“Idol School” airs on Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. KST on Mnet and tvN.
