5 Ways Wanna One Blew Us Away With Their Much-Anticipated Debut

After months of hard work, Wanna One has finally made their debut! In just one day, the monster rookie group has already swept the charts and garnered much attention in both Korea and overseas. And while many of us anxiously waited for their debut since the 11 members were announced on “Produce 101 Season 2,” few of us probably knew what to truly expect. Well, whether you’ve loved them since day one, or you’re just getting on the bandwagon, here are five ways that Wanna One blew us away with their solid debut.

1. They have sick choreography

Just from the opening scene of the “Energetic” music video, you can see how ingenious the formations are. Wanna One is full of talented dancers, and it’s clear that their skills were used to their fullest potential. Watch the fancam below and you will not be disappointed.

2. They are incredibly versatile

The contrast between “Burn It Up” and “Energetic” is a stark one, yet Wanna One pulls it off well. It is rare to find a group that do a darker, intense concept as well as an upbeat, happy one at the same time. Despite this difficulty, Wanna One maintains an impeccable balance between these two sides.

3. Their visuals are on point

Surprisingly enough, this isn’t just about the members’ good looks, though they are all quite handsome. From the teaser images to the actual music video, Wanna One has their aesthetics down to a T. Quality production is an important factor in the K-pop world, and this group has yet to disappoint.

4. They have note-worthy variety skills

These guys are so in demand right now that they’ve basically been or will be on every major variety show. They have filmed for “Weekly Idol,” “The Return of Superman,” and “Happy Together 3” among many other programs. And so far, they are hilarious. Even with their busy schedule, the Wanna One members managed to film their own variety show, “Wanna One Go.” With all this great Wanna One content airing lately, Wannables are definitely being well fed.

5. They already have a pretty impressive list of accomplishments

If you need proof of their popularity, it’s right here. Not only did Wanna One get number one on the digital charts upon debut, but their physical album stock preorders reached 500,000. Keep in mind that this is something that only groups like EXO and BTS have accomplished in the past. As if that wasn’t enough already, Wanna One was able to hold their debut showcase at Gocheok Sky Dome, an arena which is a dream arena for many Korean artists. People might say that Wanna One’s fame is all talk, but they have the fans’ support to back it up.
