MBC Reportedly Developing A New Idol Producing Show

Sources revealed on August 8 that there will be a new show in which idols produce idols.

The source said, “The show is in the making under the direction of PD Jung Chang Young. The program content will have idols who have a talent in producing train new idols. We are working to have the first episode air in late November.”

Following Mnet’s hit “Produce 101 Season 2,” KBS has hopped onto the survival show trend by developing a show called “The Unit,” which is a program that gives idols that already debuted a second chance.

Furthermore, PD Han Dong Chul, who created “Produce 101,” is preparing an idol survival program with YG Entertainment.

MBC’s upcoming show falls in line with this inclination in Korea towards programs that produce idols; however, MBC is putting a new twist on the program concept by allowing senior idols to produce junior idols.
