Chu Ja Hyun and Yu Xiao Guang Are The Hottest New Couple On TV

Koreans are falling in love with the lovely celebrity couple Chu Ja Hyun and Yu Xiao Guang!

On August 21, SBS’s “Same Bed Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny” recorded high viewer ratings of 9.1 percent (first half) and 9.8 percent (second half). Metropolitan area households recorded higher viewer ratings at 12.7 percent. It’s notable that these ratings are the highest in seven episodes since the program’s first broadcast on July 10. The ratings have also risen steadily throughout its run.

The episode’s viewer ratings are almost double those of other programs in the same time slot, which are KBS 2TV’s “Hello Counselor” which came in at 4.9 percent and MBC’s “Oppa’s Thoughts” at 1.2 percent. Although SBS drama “Strong Family 2017” and reality show “Scene Stealer – Drama War” (literal translation) was unable to beat “Hello Counselor” and recorded 5 percent, “Same Bed Different Dreams Season 2” is coming out on top.

The main reason for the show’s success is Chu Ja Hyun and Yu Xiao Guang. On the August 21 episode, the “Chu-Yu” couple went on a date, where the adorable couple’s sweet newlywed story caught the viewer’s hearts. The two went to learn Korean and then went to the night market, which led to a kiss.

The international couple was notable for being famous in China, but they are also receiving a lot of love both in and outside of Korea after their sweet newlywed life was revealed. The two have been gaining attention in Korea for Yu Xiao Guang’s aegyo and in China for Chu Ja Hyun’s charisma, and their chemistry has made them extremely popular.

Because of their popularity, viewers will now be able to see the couple even more, as the 8-episode pilot “Same Bed Different Dreams Season 2” was able to achieve regular programming. Reaching double-digit ratings (in the metropolitan area) before their eighth episode is no small feat, which is no doubt due to more airtime being allotted to the adorable couple.

Compared to Season 1, the second season’s changed format of observing star couples has succeeded. Many viewers are curious to see how the show will continue to succeed after Kim Soo Yong’s withdrawal from the show. The show will air every Monday at 11:10 p.m. KST.
