Sunmi Scores On Music Charts + Thanks Fans For Welcoming Response
Sunmi is off to a great start on charts after releasing her much anticipated solo track “Gashina!”
As of August 23 at 2:30 a.m. KST, Sunmi’s “Gashina” came in at No. 1 on the realtime charts of Genie and Bugs. The track is also placed within the Top 3 on all domestic realtime charts, scoring No. 2 on Soribada and No. 3 on Melon, Mnet, and Naver. Earlier on August 22, she had taken No. 1 on Olleh Music’s realtime chart as well.
In response to the hype, Sunmi expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome through V Live.
“I was really anxious about [releasing the song] but more people are showing love than I expected. The reactions are hot right now. I want to thank everyone for greeting me after my long hiatus,” she shared.
The singer added that she had a difficult time creating her new track. She revealed, “I started preparing my album since March, and I faced a lot of hardships with the song. I recorded “Gashina” so many times. I think I did it around six times, and the recording durations were long too. But I’m happy that the outcome turned out well.”
