"The King Loves" Captures Viewers With Im Siwan And Hong Jong Hyun's Contrasting Love Styles

The viewers of MBC drama “The King Loves” are split between team Wang Won (played by Im Siwan) and team Wang Rin (played by Hong Jong Hyun) in their pursuit to capture the heart of Eun San (played by YoonA).

The two friends whose lives completely changed after falling in love with the same girl, have drastically different personalities and approaches to love. Wang Won directly expresses his love, has interest in Eun San’s every move, and wants her by his side at all times. On the other hand, Wang Rin hides his love and watches Eun San from afar, only to regret not confessing his feelings later.

Their difference is highlighted in their conversation about a bird cage. Wang Won says, “I want to make a large bird cage to keep Eun San by my side,” while Wang Rin says, “There are birds that can’t live trapped inside of a cage.”

A source from the drama said, “Wang Won and Wang Rin show two opposite personalities that also show their different approaches to their love for Eun San. As the story progresses, Wang Won’s love and obsession for Eun San will increase while Wang Rin will slowly start to show his feelings, heightening tensions even more.”
