BLACKPINK Takes No. 1 On Oricon's Daily Album Chart

BLACKPINK’s Japanese mini album has topped Oricon’s daily album chart!

BLACKPINK made their official debut in Japan on August 30 with the physical release of their eponymous Japanese mini album, which includes Japanese versions of their hits including “BOOMBAYAH,” “Whistle,” “Playing with Fire,” “Stay,” and “As If It’s Your Last.”

The mini album topped Oricon’s daily album chart for August 29, with estimated total sales of 21,583 units. YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk posted on Instagram to congratulate the group on their success.

Prior to BLACKPINK’s official debut in Japan, they held their debut showcase at Japan’s famous Budokan arena in July, with 14,000 fans in attendance. They also performed at the Japanese summer music festival “A-Nation 2017” on August 27.
