BTOB's Yook Sungjae Shares Why He Didn't Let His Groupmates Listen To His New Solo Song
On August 30, BTOB’s Yook Sungjae held a V Live broadcast to talk about the release of his solo single album for BTOB’s ongoing solo single project “Piece of BTOB.”
He shared, “‘Paradise’ [one of the songs on the album] is self-produced. I felt shy about putting out songs that was just my voice and also self-produced. I still have a long way to go in making my own songs so I didn’t even let the BTOB members listen to it. I told them to listen to it when it came out.”
He continued, “At first I wanted to write a very sad song, but when I listened to it, I got too sad and couldn’t think of any lyrics. Once I decided to write a bright song, I made it in two days.”
“I think I’ll continue to write songs once I return to Korea,” he said. “It’s fun. I want to be a BTOB member who is capable of showing many genres.”
Yook Sungjae released the single album containing “Tell Me” and “Paradise” on August 30 at 6 p.m. KST.
