Sooyoung Shares Thoughts On How 3 Girls' Generation Members Are Appearing In MBC Dramas At The Same Time

On August 30, the upcoming MBC drama “Man Who Sets the Table” held a production conference at the Sangam MBC building.

The drama, directed by Joo Sung Woo and written by Park Hyun Joo, stars Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung, On Joo Wan, Kim Kap Soo, Lee Il Hwa, Shim Hyung Tak, Kim Mi Sook, and Seo Hyo Rim.

Sooyoung said, “I play Kim Kap Soo’s daughter who is preparing to enter the workforce. She works hard to live up to her father’s expectations but there’s bitterness in her cup of life. She leaves for Guam in fear of her father’s anger and falls in love with Jung Tae Yang.”

Fellow Girls’ Generation member YoonA is appearing in another MBC drama, “The King Loves,” while Seohyun is also on MBC on “Bad Thief, Good Thief.” Sooyoung said, “We try to avoid overlapping filming with album production or promotion. In trying to do that, [the three of us] ended up doing dramas at similar times.”

She added, “In choosing good productions, it ended up that all of us were working at MBC. I think it’s very unexpected. The other two are doing really well right now. I’m monitoring their performances and they’re so good that I feel pressure. However, I have confidence in our production.”

“The members cheer me on and even helped me pick out my outfit today,” she said. “We all support each other.”

“Man Who Sets the Table” is slated to begin airing on September 2 at 8:35 p.m. KST.
