Actress Kim Young Ae Awarded Posthumously For Her Contributions To The Broadcasting Industry

The late actress Kim Young Ae, who passed away in April while battling pancreatic cancer, was chosen as a recipient of an award for those who have contributed greatly to the promotion of the broadcasting industry.

The award was prepared by the Korea Communications Commission and the Korean Broadcasters Association in celebration of the 90th anniversary of Korean broadcasting.

She also received a third rank order of merit for her activities in the  industry for over 15 years.

Kim Young Ae made her debut in 1971 and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2012. Even while she was fighting cancer, she appeared in various dramas like “Kill Me, Heal Me” and “Doctors” and films “The Attorney” and “Cart.” She made constant visits to the hospital while filming “Laurel Tree Tailors,” showing her determination to finish shooting for the drama.
