"Hyori's Homestay" PD Explains The Reason Why 2nd Season May Not Be Possible

“Hyori’s Homestay” will unfortunately be coming to an end after two more episodes. The last episode is set to be a special one.

The show, which received the highest ratings of any JTBC variety show, was a time of healing for many viewers. From the camera-unconscious “Queen of Bare Face” Lee Hyori and her loving husband Lee Sang Soon; to the “staff” IU who won hearts without acting or singing; to the lodgers who brought their own unique stories; to the dogs running around without any collars; it was difficult to find anything in the show to harshly criticize about.

At this rate, it’s only natural for viewers to be anticipating a second season. However, producing director (PD) Jung Hyo Min explained, “There’s only one thing I’m concerned about. It worries me that uninvited guests are showing up to Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon’s home. It must be extremely burdensome to film at their own house, and yet, it would be meaningless to film somewhere else.” Therefore, the producing director said that she would take some time to think about this, since it would be stressful to suggest a second season to the married couple in this current situation.
