Weki Meki's Choi Yoojung Denies Rumors Of Underage Drinking With Jeon Somi And Kim Sohye

Weki Meki’s Choi Yoojung officially denied the rumor that she drank alcohol with former I.O.I members Jeon Somi and Kim Sohye despite being underage.

On October 7, Jeon Somi posted several pictures of herself and pictures she took with Kim Sohye and Choi Yoojung on her Instagram. The pictures became controversial after someone pointed out that there were wine and soju bottles behind Jeon Somi in one picture where she was hugging a big doll and wearing a character hairband.

Some of the other pictures posted on the same day were selfies of Jeon Somi, Kim Sohye, and Choi Yoojung with Jeon Somi wearing the same hairband in the problematic photo. Jeon Somi wrote, “There’s nothing better than spending the holidays with you,” referring to the other two girls as she posted the pictures. All photos have been deleted as of now.

As all three girls are underage, this led to people criticizing them and asking for an explanation.

However, Weki Meki’s agency Fantagio stated on October 8, “Upon checking, the said photo’s background is Choi Yoojung’s house and her parents and relatives were with them for Chuseok. The adults had been drinking from the alcohol bottles in question and the three underage girls have nothing to do with this drinking controversy.”

Through this official statement, Fantagio made it clear that the bottles had nothing to do with the girls and simply belonged to the adults who were with them at Choi Yoojung’s house for the national holiday.
