Yang Hyun Suk Says He Doesn't Watch Music Shows Because All The Idols Are Similar

On October 27, a press conference was held for JTBC’s upcoming idol survival program “MIXNINE,” with YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyun Suk, producing director (PD) Han Dong Chul, PD Yoo Sung Mo, BIGBANG’s Seungri, and Zion.T in attendance.

Yang Hyun Suk shared his thoughts on the current K-pop industry and said, “I think we all feel the same way about the problem in the idol market. I’m a music producer, but it’s been a long time since I’ve watched music shows because all the idols are similar.”

The YG Entertainment founder added, “BIGBANG told me they don’t want to appear on music shows because they feel awkward being amongst the similar-looking idols. Zion.T also recently came out with a new album, but did not appear on any music shows.”

He concluded, “Only one or two succeed out of the similar-looking idols. But it’s unfortunate that they all practice the same way.”
