Zhang Ziyi Makes Official Statement About Illegal Filming Of Song Joong Ki And Song Hye Kyo's Wedding

Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi has spoken up about the illegal filming of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo’s wedding.

On November 3, Zhang Ziyi spoke with Sina Entertainment to make an official statement in regards to the illegal filming and live streaming of the couple’s wedding, which she has been accused of being involved in.

She said, “I was notified of this after I had returned to China. I saw that the media reported on the wedding without any permission.”

She continued, “My husband [Wang Feng] is the founder and a stockholder of one of the media company [that reported on the wedding]. However, both my husband and I were unaware of this incident, because management of the company was entrusted to a professional CEO half a year ago.”

Zhang Ziyi added, “If either one of us had known of this before it happened, we would have stopped this embarrassing deed. Wang Feng’s side has strictly reprimanded the CEO, and they will receive appropriate punishment. They have acknowledged their wrongdoings. I want to sincerely apologize to Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki in regards to this matter.”

She also expressed her anger towards this incident. She said, “It was supposed to be a great day, but things that were unexpected happened. I have already told Song Hye Kyo’s side that what was reported in Taiwan is not true. I feel very distressed.”

Zhang Ziyi also revealed that she had flown to Korea just for the couple’s wedding, and is very happy that one of her closest and longest friends had found happiness. She commented on the wedding by saying that Song Joong Ki was shown caring for Song Hye Kyo the entirety of the wedding, by keeping her hands warm and brushing her hair out of her face. She said, “Though they may be young, their love is a very deep one.”

She lastly gave the two best wishes on their new journey.
