Tiger JK Opens Up About Story Behind Yoon Mi Rae's Hit Song

On the November 5 episode of JTBC’s “Night Goblin,” Tiger JK appeared as a guest and joined the cast as they went on a food tour.

During the episode, Tiger JK opened up about not being familiar with variety shows. He commented, “There’s a lot of misunderstandings about me. It’s the point to which there were contestants that gave up on appearing on ‘Show Me The Money 6’ because I was a producer. They think that I’m scary. The captions trapped me [into someone I wasn’t]. It was really sad.”

The rapper also opened up about his family. When asked what he was afraid of, and Tiger JK adorably responded, “My wife [Yoon Mi Rae].” On his son Jordan, he stated, “He’s nine years old now. But he’s bigger than Lee Soo Geun. He’s overweight so I’m worried.”

The cast also enjoyed Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae’s songs as they sang along and had fun. When Yoon Mi Rae’s hit track, “Memories” came on, the members said, “As soon as I heard this song, I cried.” As a song based on a true story, Tiger JK explained that Yoon Mi Rae was going through a tough time when she had to deal with lawsuits and scams. He stated, “We lost about 5 billion won (approximately $4.5 million) and we were left with 5,000 won (approximately $4.48). We were even almost kicked out of our apartment. Because of the stress, Yoon Mi Rae couldn’t sing.”

Tiger JK also opened up about his own stress, and stated, “I didn’t have confidence for a long time because [everyone kept saying] I was a failed singer, and so I was stuck with victim mentality.”
